Organization: Social Science Research and Training II (STAR), Partnership, Department of Sociomedical Sciences, Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health
This satellite session will present key findings from the 2016 ‘Our future: a Lancet commission on adolescent health and wellbeing’ and describe methodological insights – including research ethics guidance – from a series of 2017 UNICEF briefs based on the Commission’s work. The Commission report describes a ‘triple dividend’ from investments in adolescents: to adolescents today, toward health and well-being across the lifespan, and to the next generation of the world’s children, and highlights the great need for continuing research with young people. The UNICEF briefs focus on research methodologies and identify best-practice approaches when conducting research with adolescents.
